Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What scholarships does the CPE program offer?

A. We do have two regular types of scholarships to offer: tuition-fee waving scholarship and DAAD scholarship.

For the tuition-fee waving scholarship, students will be exempted from paying normal tuition fee for the normal period of study (2 years). However, they must pay a special administrative fee (around 4,750 baht) each semester instead.

The DAAD scholarship is supported and financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Federal Foreign Office. It will covers your tuition fees, travel allowances, and living expenses during the 2-years study period. The students who successfully get this scholarship will spend their first year at TGGS in Thailand and the second year at RWTH Aachen University in Germany.

Q. What are the requirement and selection criteria for tuition-fee waiving scholarships?

A. The tuition-fee waving scholarship is eligible to all students who have their GPA higher than

  • 2.50 for applying a partial tuition-fee waving scholarship, and
  • 2.75 for applying a full tuition-fee waving scholarship.

We have a limited number of this scholarship, and it will be granted to applicants based on the "First come, first serve" principle. So, if you are interested to apply for this scholarship, please do apply at the earliest possible.

Q. What are the requirement and selection criteria for DAAD scholarships?

A. DAAD scholarship is eligible for the applicants from South East Asian countries (non-Thai). Due to a limited number of the scholarship available, the applicants who wish to apply for this scholarship should have an excellent academic record as well as excellent English skills. The selection process will be conducted by a committee which consists of DAAD and TGGS representatives and the decision will be made based on the academic record and result of telephone interview.

Q. Do you provide any other financial support in addition to the tuition fee scholarship?

A. Lecturers in our program received a number of academic and industrial research grants each year. So, if you are willing to take a specifc research project offered by lecturers, you may be able to receive financial support in some forms e.g. a lump-sum of money, stipend, or registration fee for conference.

For the students obtaining DAAD scholarship, they will spend their second entire year doing student project, internship, and master thesis at RWTH Aachen University.
